- When
- May 2026
- Stack
- Next.js 14 · TypeScript · Tailwind · Framer Motion · npm workspaces · Docker
The challenge
Connect sports coaches and trainees across MENA with a product that ships fast but won't have to be rebuilt the moment it gets traction.
What I built
- Mobile-first monorepo using npm workspaces, structured for growth
- Multi-sport category filtering for discovery
- Pre-wired for payments and messaging, with Postgres + Redis and Docker ready to go
Highlights
- Monorepo built for scale
- Multi-sport category filtering
- Pre-wired for Postgres + Redis
Built to survive success
MVPs usually fail in one of two ways: over-engineered and never shipped, or shipped and immediately rewritten. Mytrainy splits the difference deliberately. It's a mobile-first Next.js monorepo (npm workspaces) with Docker, structured so payments, messaging, and a Postgres + Redis backend are pre-wired seams rather than features — the expensive integration points are already in the architecture, just not yet turned on. The MVP validates coach discovery and multi-sport filtering today, and the day it gets traction, the next steps are additions, not a rebuild.
Delivered result
A delivered discovery MVP with multi-sport filtering and defined integration seams for payments, messaging, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
